Although you've seen them in previous pages, these are the adopties I've had made special in remembrance of my sweet Ebony "Ebby", my very best friend, who passed away in my arms in April '07 of Feline Leukemia...
Ebony ("Ebby" as she was always known) was my adorable black and white long-haired kitty...who was only about 2 years old, until April of '07. Unfortunately, she was born into a family of cats who all had Feline Leukemia. She was so special to me that I paid alot for immune treatments for her at the vet... Her mom and sisters died about a year before she did..she was a fighter. She was, also, so little..smallest cat I've ever seen (and I have a persian now who is also very tiny). She was the sweetest cat ever. You could do absolutely anything to her and she'd just take it in stride; didn't care at all. Whenever I was sad, lonely, etc., I'd sit on the bed and she'd crawl up in my lap and just stay there and purr until I felt like getting back up. She was my very best friend. This may sound odd coming from a grown woman, wife and mother, but she truly was the best friend I have ever had. She passed away of the disease, though, that April... I noticed she was breathing funny so I picked her up and held her...I knew it was her time, there just wasn't anything else I could do but hold her and let her know I was there. It got to the point where little breathing turned into no breathing...I tried to resuscitate her, but it didn't help..and she suffocated in my arms. 4 1/2 years now and I still miss her every day.
